About Philosium

What is a Symposium?

The word “Symposium” comes from Ancient Greece, where philosophers, poets, and citizens gathered to exchange ideas while sharing a meal or a drink. These meetings were not just intellectual debates — they were celebrations of curiosity, dialogue, and collective reflection. A symposium was a place where every voice mattered, where truth emerged not from authority but from conversation.

Philosium reimagines this tradition for the 21st century. We bring young people from all over the world together — not in a single room, but in a digital space where ideas can travel beyond borders. Through online dialogues, workshops, and collaborative projects, we create a global community dedicated to questioning, listening, and learning from one another.

Our vision: Philosophical Discourse Transcends Borders

The name “Philosium” combines “Philosophy” and “Symposium”, reflecting our mission:
refresh-ccw
To keep alive the spirit of open, inclusive dialogue from ancient symposia.
message-circle-more
To adapt this spirit to today’s challenges and opportunities, making philosophy global, digital, and youth-driven.

Philosophy belongs to no one — and to everyone. At Philosium, we believe that big questions about life, justice, freedom, and meaning should not be reserved for experts or academics. Whether you come from a rural village or a busy capital city, whether you’ve studied philosophy or you’re discovering it for the first time, your perspective is valuable.

We aim to break down barriers — cultural, linguistic, or social — so that every young person can explore philosophy in their own words, with their own experiences, and contribute to a collective search for understanding.

At Philosium, we believe ideas grow stronger when explored through different voices and formats. A thought can begin in a text, take shape in a conversation, deepen in study, and come alive in shared experiences.

Our modern symposium crosses mediums to make philosophy richer, more accessible, and more engaging. Every format opens a new angle, every exchange leads further — creating a dynamic space where ideas are not just shared, but transformed.
