Vasco Lopes de Carvalho Leal

My name is Vasco Leal and I’m a 17 year old high school student from Portugal who has a couple of interests and hobbies. In terms of achievements, the conquests I am the proudest of are having written a poetry book and getting the gold medal at the Portuguese National Olympiad, and an Honourable Mention at the IPO 2025, a life-changing experience that I’ll never forget – For all these acomplishments, I thank everyone who nurtured and believed in me. In terms of languages, I can speak Portuguese (native language), English, and I have some knowledge of Spanish and French, skills that I intend to use in the best way possible. When it comes to my hobbies, besides learning about History and Philosophy, I enjoy playing videogames and listening to music. As Vice-Director of the Ambassadors System, and Ibero-Brazil Chief Ambassador, I am delighted to meet so many people with common interests. Aside from that, I’m heavily interested in international diplomacy and geopolitics, which consequently caused me to be involved with Philosium. As for philosophy, I am most interested in the schools of ethics, philosophy of politics, metaphysics, ontology, aesthetics, and philosophy of language. Though, to be frank, I’m genuinely in love with all groups of study in philosophy – the aforementioned ones are simply what I’m most focused on. May this wonderful discipline unite us and cause us to transcend all borders for a common goal – the betterment of the world.
