Warre Ascoop
I am Warre, 18 years old, currently studying philosophy at the University of Ghent, Belgium. In high school I focused on Latin and mathematics, which sparked my first interest in philosophy through Lucretius and Epicureanism. I competed in the Belgian Philosophy Olympiad and won the gold medal, qualifying for the International one in Helsinki. At that time I didn’t have much knowledge about philosophy besides the ancients, so I felt like an absolute stranger walking between all these people talking about complex philosophy. When I got back home after Helsinki, I decided I wanted to know everything there is to know about philosophy, and started my quest for knowledge. I found my place at the University of Ghent where I am pursuing my bachelor’s in philosophy, and I’m dedicated to helping other young people find their footing in the world of philosophy. Beside that I enjoy reading, writing, and playing chess.
