Dušan Lazić
“My name is Dušan Lazić. I was born in 2007 and I live in Serbia. I completed Primary School as valedictorian and graduated from the piano department of the Primary Music School. I am now enrolled in specialized maths class. My main interests are Physics and Philosophy, which I view as inseparable.
I enjoy competitions because they help me refine my skills and spend time with peers who share my interests and with whom I can discuss a wide range of philosophical and scientific topics. I have taken part in many contests—physics, mathematics, chemistry, music theory, history… ‘I am particularly proud of winning a gold medal with my team at Fyziklani (2025) competition in physics, bronze medals at Balkan Physics Olympiad (2024) and International Young Physicist Tournament (2024), as well as participating in International Astronomy and Astrophysics Olympiad (2024). This year I am going to represent Serbia at International and European Physics Olympiads, and also at International Astronomy and Astrophysics Olympiad.’ During one of those I met my friend Sarthak, who introduced me to Philosium. As soon as I heard of it, I wanted to participate, because I think it is one of very rare opportunities to engage and enjoy vast philosophical discourse among peers all over the world.
I am active in the programmes at one science center. I am a senior participant in the physics seminar. and currently doing a research in Solid State Physics. I have trained speleology, enjoy hiking, and am a member of the Mountaineering Club. I practiced kung fu, achieving third rank. In my free time I hike, explore nature, climb, and pursue photography. I also organise and participate in astronomical observations during summer nights. Regarding Philosophy, I am very interested in Philosophy of Science (mainly Post-Popperian and Popperian), Analytic Philosophy in general (mainly Quine, Wittgenstein, Russel), Philosophy of Language, Epistemology and Ethics. I really love connecting seemingly disconnected fields and to raise awareness about importance of Philosophy in everyday life, and especially in scientific research.”
