International Philosophy Olympiad

The International Philosophy Olympiad (IPO) is an annual global philosophy essay competition for high‑school students, organized under the auspices of the International Federation of Philosophical Societies (FISP) and recognized by UNESCO . It gathers students from many countries to write and discuss essays on fundamental philosophical questions, with the aim of fostering critical and independent thinking, intellectual honesty, and intercultural dialogue among young people.

Philosium is a project that emerged largely from the community of IPO alumni. Its partnership with the International Philosophy Olympiad is therefore both natural and significant: it expresses a form of institutional trust and recognitionfrom the very network of teachers, scholars, and former participants in which Philosium originated, and reflects a shared commitment to advancing philosophy education and dialogue worldwide.
